From Grade 1 to Grade 6: Lily’s Transformational Journey in GCSE English

I wanted to share with you the remarkable progress of Lily-Aung Li, a student for whom the organisation provided an English tutor last year. When Lily first started with us, she was struggling considerably, achieving only a grade 1 in English Language. She found it difficult to engage, was often quiet, and rarely spoke up in sessions. It was clear that Lily faced significant challenges, not just academically, but also in her confidence and ability to express herself.

However, through patience, understanding, and personalised support from her tutor, we started to see a transformation. Slowly, Lily became more comfortable, started engaging in discussions, and found her voice. Her tutor worked closely with her, tailoring the lessons to meet her unique needs, making the subject material accessible, and fostering an encouraging environment where she felt safe to learn and grow. What’s truly amazing is how driven and determined Lily was despite the hurdles she faced, showing immense resilience and commitment.

Fast forward to her recent achievements, and I’m incredibly proud to share that Lily secured a grade 5 in English Language GCSE and an impressive grade 6 in English Literature GCSE. Her progress is nothing short of inspiring, going from a point where she was barely passing to becoming confident in her abilities and excelling academically.

Not only did she succeed in English, but she also passed all her other GCSEs that we had arranged support for, allowing her to secure her place at college. This is a testament to her hard work, perseverance, and the dedication of your tutoring team.
